A report released by the IAB on April 13, 2011 conveyed the current state of online advertising mediums in terms of growth and spend. Based on this data, check out our latest infographic on the driving growth of online advertising space, specifically in display advertising. Notice some of the more interesting statistics:
- Display advertising spend grew twice as fast as search did last year
- Spend on rich media and digital video advertising, a component of display advertising, is up to 5% of the total online advertising spend
- Internet advertising surpassed newspaper ads in the U.S. in 2010 ($22.8 billion) and is now second only to TV ($28.6 billion)
